What are the basic structures of plastic molds?

Plastic mold is one of the key equipment to manufacture rubber and plastic products, the quality of the mold plays a very important role in the quality of plastic products. Different kinds of plastic products, different products of molding processing technology, plastic mold raw materials, characteristics, structure are different requirements. Generally speaking, the plastic mold basically consists of the following parts.



(1) Forming parts


Refers to the parts that form the cavity and directly touch the melt to form plastic products. Usually there are punch, core, forming rod, concave die, forming ring, insert and other parts. In the fixed mold and fixed mold closing, forming parts to define the inside and outside of the plastic parts of the shape and specifications.



(2) Pouring system


The flow force that leads the plastic melt from the injection molding machine nozzle to the mold cavity is called the pouring system, which consists of a flow channel, a separation channel, a flexible mouth and a cold well.



(3) Guiding and positioning mechanism


In order to ensure that the moving mold and fixed mold can be closed, accurate guidance and positioning alignment, usually set on the fixed mold and moving mold positioning pin and guide post. The deep cavity injection mold shall also be equipped with a precise spherical positioning on the main parting surface. Sometimes guiding parts are also set up to ensure accurate fitness movement and calibration of the die tissue.



(4) Demoulding organization


Refers to in the middle and late of the whole process of the mold, the plastic parts slip from the mold of the organization.



(5) Side parting core pulling structure


Contain side concave or side hole plastic parts, before being slipped off the mold, be sure to carry out side parting or pull out the side mold base or pull out the side core.



(6) Temperature adjustment system


In order to meet the requirements of injection process, the mold is equipped with cooling or heating temperature adjustment system. For mold cooling, a cooling circulation channel is generally added in the template. For heating, electric heater components are installed in or near the mold.



(7) Exhaust system


In order to better discharge the original gas in the cavity during mold filling, an exhaust system is often set up at the parting surface. Small and medium-sized displacement is not large, can use parting face exhaust pipe, can also use the plug or core and the gap between the matching hole exhaust pipe. Special exhaust pipe groove shall be set in advance for large and medium-sized injection molds.
